UKROA Dream Project: Establishment of Sakelathan and Chulaghar

January 24, 2025  | One of UKROA’s most cherished goals has been to establish a sacred Sakelathan in the United States—a space where our community can gather to celebrate traditions, perform rituals, and connect with our ancestral heritage. Discussions began in 2014 under President Pravaker Rai, continued with planning and feasibility studies under Bishnu Kumar Rai, and advanced during Muna Rai’s presidency with seed funding and the formation of a 32-member Sakelathan Committee. With contributions from members, well-wishers, and the generous support of realtor Tek Narayan Yadav, this long-standing vision became a reality.

On January 14, 2025, UKROA proudly purchased 8 acres of land in Brimfield, Massachusetts, marking a historic milestone for our community. This sacred land will serve as a lasting home to preserve and celebrate Kirat traditions for generations. The Grand Sakela Ubhauli will be held here this year, and UKROA extends heartfelt gratitude to all members, supporters, and global Kirat Rai communities whose dedication, passion, and generosity made this achievement possible.
